It is a typically Neapolitan pasta and intrinsically linked to marriage: “ziti” in fact means spouses. In fact, it is said that this type of pasta was often offered as an opening course at wedding banquets.
The Ziti cut 36 from La Molisana are similar to penne, but have straight ends which make them different sisters of the more famous penne.
